Take Europe for example, each country within the continent has it's own separate government/monarchy, and their governments also operate in the EU, but there is no president of Europe because you simply can't apply one governmental system to such a vast and varied continent.

onibara	Posted - Fri, 7 March 2008 @ 03:56 I doubt it. People will take a whole lot for a very long time before revolution is ever really a serious threat. Just look at was East Germany. Everyone reported their neighbors and their families and their coworkers to the Stasi, and the Stasi disappeared people. Things would need to get a whole lot worse for revolution to become a viable option. Hell, the Weather Underground was never a real threat to the US government, and that was during a time of much greater turmoil.
