About Challenge of the Ancient Empires!

Challenge of the Ancient Empires Prologue: Centuries ago, a band of pirates hid important treasures of the ancient world in caverns beneath a desert. Find your way through an intricate maze rigged with booby traps, moving platforms, and deep chasms. Use sharp thinking and special tools to overcome obstacles in the caverns and find ancient artifacts. Solve puzzles and logic problems. Then you'll be ready for the ultimate challenge of the ancient empires! Mission: Your goal is to work your way through 4 caverns, which leads to the ultimate challenge. You must overcome many obstacles as you collect pieces of ancient artifacts in the 4 chambers of each cavern. Then you must put the pieces together like a puzzle. After you assemble the artifact puzzle, a door leading to the next chamber will appear. Go through it and solve the logic problem there to go on. After you master 4 caverns, the entrance to the fifth is revealed. Overcome the ultimate challenge at the end of that cavern and you win the game! Obstacles: There are 4 kinds of obstacles in the caverns: conveyor belts, coded panels, sliding panels, and reflecting triangles. Three types of switches control the obstacles. Jump up to bump the head switches and gongs. When you hit the gongs in the same order as they appear on the coded panel, the panel will move and you can go through. Walk over the foot switches. Use the miner's hat's light to operate the light switches. Some switches are operated by cave creatures. Use tools to overcome obstacles and fend off cave creatures. You always lose energy when you are touched by cave creatures or the things they throw. Puzzles and Logic problems: Search the caverns for artifact pieces. Walk over them to pick them up. After finding 6 artifact pieces in a chamber, you must put the pieces of the artifact together like a jigsaw puzzle. Move the pieces to their correct positions on the right side of the screen. (At the Expert level, press «F» to flip a piece before placing it.) When a puzzle is correctly assembled, you will be able to read some information about the artifact. Then you will be back in the chamber and can look for the special door to the logic passageway. In logic passageways, you solve logic problems to get energy and go on to the next chamber. Study the rows and columns of symbols in a logic problem. Then move in front of the door whose symbol you think is the correct answer to the problem. Press «Up» key to go through. You have two tries to solve the problem. You get a hint after your first miss. After your second miss, you have to start that chamber over again. Controls: Controls are very easy. To move use cursor keys, to change a tool use «Enter», and to use a chosen tool press «Space». There are three kinds of tool available: light beam that comes out of the miner's hat, turbo sneakers to jump higher and farther (don't use turbo sneakers when the ceiling isn't high enough, because you will then better jump without them), and the force field that serves as protection against cave creatures (lasts 5 seconds). My humble opinion: I like this game just the way it is! I wouldn't change anything (except the length). Graphics made this game look very mysterious! They are nice and pleasant to eyes. I also liked music and sounds in this game (ok, maybe the music in ending animation wasn't that good, but the rest...).
